Retention
Retention is the final stage of orthodontic treatment and follows the removal of braces or aligners.
It is just as important as the active treatment phase, and it is essential to follow the instructions for the use of retainers carefully if you want to maintain your beautiful new smile.
There are two types of retainers:
Keep in mind that teeth have a natural tendency to shift back to their original position! Additionally, over the years, changes occur in the oral cavity and forces may act on the teeth, causing unwanted movements.
That’s why the retention phase is usually long-term, with the required wear time gradually reduced as the teeth stabilize in their new position.
