Oral hygiene tips
Proper oral hygiene is crucial during orthodontic treatment, as braces can make it more challenging to clean your teeth effectively.
The brackets and wires create additional areas where plaque and food can accumulate, increasing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and discoloration.
With proper care, you can protect your oral health and ensure that your teeth remain healthy and beautiful at the end of treatment.
Follow these simple yet important tips:
Step 1
Brush gently with circular motions over the braces to remove any food debris and bacterial plaque.
Step 2
Now, place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the surface above the braces and brush with gentle back-and-forth motions.
Step 3
Do the same on the surface below the braces. Don’t forget the chewing surfaces of the teeth, as well as the inner side.
Cleaning with a special toothbrush
Using the special orthodontic toothbrush, brush between the brackets.
Cleaning with interdental brushes
Using interdental brushes, clean between the brackets.
